The short version

• Caption checks are processed to produce the result and are not stored on our servers.
• Full video checks are optional and only run after you choose them. The video is uploaded to temporary private storage for transcription and deleted as soon as the transcript is returned. A small set of sampled frames is sent for on-screen text and visual review and is never stored. Transcripts, on-screen text, and frame descriptions are used for the check and are not stored.
• Nothing you check is used for advertising, tracking, or training AI models.
• There are no accounts. The app and the website use an anonymous device identifier to count checks against your plan.
• We do not sell personal data and we do not run third-party advertising trackers.

What a full video check processes, where it goes, and when it is deleted

If any step fails, the result tells you which source could not be analyzed and why, and the check is not counted against your plan.

The caption check

The text, selected platforms, link, and file details you submit are used to run the check and are discarded after the response is sent. If the AI review layer is enabled, the text of your draft (and the transcript and on-screen text of a full check) is sent to Anthropic to produce additional findings and rewrites. It is not used to train models.

What we store

Device identifier. A random identifier generated on your device (kept in the iOS Keychain or your browser's local storage). We store it with the platform (iOS or web), the time it was last seen, and a count of the checks it has started this month and today. It is not linked to your name, email, or any account.

Subscriptions. If you subscribe in the iOS app, Apple sends us the subscription's original transaction identifier, product, status, and renewal dates so we can apply your plan. We do not receive your payment details or your Apple ID. Purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's terms.

Check records. For each full video check we store the device identifier, the plan, the duration, size, and type of the video, which steps ran and whether they succeeded, and timestamps. We do not store the caption, the transcript, the on-screen text, the frames, or the result.

Your draft, locally. Your current draft and your full-check choice are kept in your own browser or app storage so you do not lose them. "Start over" clears the draft.

Server logs. Standard logs (address, user agent, path, time, status) are retained for a limited period for security and debugging. Logs never contain captions, transcripts, on-screen text, or frame descriptions.

Email. If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can reply.

Providers

• Vercel hosts the service and the temporary video storage.
• Supabase stores device identifiers, subscription status, and check records.
• AssemblyAI transcribes spoken words during a full video check.
• Anthropic reviews sampled frames and, when the AI layer is on, the text of your draft.
• Apple processes App Store subscriptions.

Each provider processes data only to provide its part of the service.

Your choices

You can use the caption checker without a video and without any personal information. You choose whether a video gets a full check, and you can change that choice from the checker at any time. To remove the draft stored on your device, use "Start over" or clear site or app data. To remove the device identifier and its check counts, email us with the identifier shown in the app's settings.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

We will update this page before any change to what is processed or stored.
